• Dessiné et construit par Georges et Alain Jézéquel à Carantec (voir descriptif complet dans le Chasse Marée N° 69 de 1992 Le bateau est sorti au printemps 1991. L : 10,20m, l : 3,80m, te : 1 ,80m ; LHT : 14,50m poids : 8,5 t Quille en chêne, membrures en acacias, bordées en acajou, pont en tek massif, gréement en pin douglas. L'intérieur est tout en acajou. Six couchettes ( une double à l'avant, deux simples dans le carré et une double à l'arrière). Son large plan de pont permet à dix personnes de naviguer en journée. Sa coque est blanche et le pavois vernis. Il est équipé d'une table à cartes, d'une cuisine et d'une toilette. Il est classé en catégorie 1. Repris à son premier propriétaire en mai 1996, le bateau a depuis été entretenu par le chantier Leborgne à 56 Baden et gardé en hiver sous hangar. Il est livré avec son jeu de huit voiles Tonnerre: GV, trinquette, foc N°1, foc N°2, foc ballon, clin foc, grand flèche, petit flèche. Son moteur est un Yanmar de 35cv. Il est visible sous hangar au chantier Leborgne et sera remis à l'eau fin juin. Le bateau a navigué chaque année entre l'île d'Yeu et St Malo

• The owner's word : « We bought Alcyon in spring 1996 after having already navigated quite a bit in Brittany and in the North Sea on a Jeanneau.
• We were concerned with its delicacy, its complicated rigging, costly maintenance, difficulty to handle. However we were very rapidly reassured, won over by its charm and very happy for fifteen years of navigation between St Malo and Ile d'Yeu. • Alcyon is a real boat, a one mast of Carantec type (wood, leather and bronze) that requests attention and anticipation. It is a pleasure at the helm, very seaworthy in all conditions (small wavelets, swell, rough sea), has good average speed without being able to sail close to the wind as well as modern boats. Its engine has good dimensions (shaft line and 3 blades). The deck plan is very comfortable and reassuring with its bulwark. In still weather one can board eight persons, six for cruising and two are enough with the mainsail, jib and forestaysail. When all the sails are hoisted (five sails) four persons are enough. Berths : six in cruising, berths for six, kitchen, head compartments, storage and height under bar. Anchoring: the boat does not fit in traditional catways. Either we leave her at the anchoring or we put her along the quays. This boat has 'crutches' but we have never used them. Maintenance: the construction of the boat is a wonderful realization by Jezequel, the hull is without calfatage and hasn't moved after twenty years. The maintenance consisted of a touch up on the hull every three years, a varnish on the rigging every three years and a varnish on the bulwark every three years, alternatively. The 8 'Tonnerre' sails are in perfect order. The boat has spent every winter in a boathouse. This boat has given us a lot of pleasure. We are selling it for two reasons, the main one is age which forces us to be reasonable and our crew has grown, got married and are no longer available. »
