The owner's word

• My life as a sailor is no doubt atypical: after having been mostly a crew member sailing on dinghies until the age of 20, I did not sail again until the age of 60! For some 5 years I reconnected with the sea, sailing on a large sailing boat (approx. 18m) in the Mediterranean and the Caribbeans. A rediscovery! I bought this Grand Soleil in 2010. I instantly liked this boat because she was in good condition, had been sailing (5 years in local races and 15 years cruising with the same owner) and that she had been the object of an extensive overhaul in 2008. After a few years of sailing around the Mediterranean, I set sail for Brittany via the Balearic Islands, Gibraltar, Lagos, Cascaix, Vigo, La Coruna and Hoedic. This boat never let me down. She is lively, fast, with precise helm and in the event of strong winds, ardent to the point of easily finding the rhythm and reassuring the skipper. She is as comfortable at the anchor as in the marina. I now wish to sell as my age doesn’t make me want to take on the responsibility of a crew. Sailing again as a crew member on the other hand would suit me fine!
